DeFuniak Springs – The Triumph Gulf Coast Board voted on Tuesday to provide funding assistance to bolster efforts to bring industry focused workforce training to the new Warrington Preparatory Academy in Pensacola.
Triumph is working with Warrington to support its “Rocketing to the Future” workforce education program resulting in students earning stackable, proficiency based industry credentials in career pathways for high skill/high wage jobs that are responsive to the needs of local employers. Triumph Gulf Coast will provide up to $7,454,867 towards completion of at least 3,479 industry certifications, renovation of classroom space, personnel, and equipment.
IT and unmanned systems certifications to be offered include, but are not limited to Digital Tools, Google, MS Office, and Adobe Suite.
Triumph funds will support industry certification classes for Parent University participants as part of the grant.
The Triumph Gulf Coast Board of Directors is appointed by the Governor, Attorney General, Chief Financial Officer, and presiding officers of the Legislature. The appointees to the Triumph Board are David Bear (Chair), Bryan Corr, Sr., Reynolds Henderson, David Humphreys, Collier Merrill Jay Trumbull, Sr., and Leslie Weiss. All meetings of the Board are public.
